A Brighton fan passed away after the team's game against Fulham. The club's official website posted a message to express condolences after the game and comforted the fans and staff who witnessed the tragedy.

Brighton official website wrote: "After the game against Fulham, we sadly announced the tragic death of a 72-year-old male fan. The gentleman suddenly felt discomfort in the upper floor of the East Stand in the second half of the game. Although first responders, club staff and medical team were working hard to rescue him, he still failed to save his life."

Brighton Club CEO and Vice Chairman Paul Barber said: "This is the heartbreaking ending after the game this afternoon, and we will go to the deceased. ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” Based on the fact that not being transferred to the hospital in this specific situation can maximize the chance of survival, the medical team chose to provide rescue on site, and the club's security personnel then quickly set up a privacy screen to ensure the treatment environment.

With the assistance of Sussex police and the Premier League, the club's security team considered suspending the game, but because the vast majority of the audience and players on both sides were unaware of it at the time, they finally decided to continue the game. This move is intended to avoid additional risks caused by interrupting the event, interfering with rescue work, or causing emergency treatment when patients are regaining awareness and needing to be sent to the hospital urgently. Dr. Rob Galloway, a physician and emergency medicine consultant at the club, said: "First of all, I would like to express my sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased. Although the ending is heartbreaking, from the perspective of emergency response, medical treatment is a model. The professional performance of the club security and Sussex police has created the best treatment conditions for the medical team." The Brighton Club also provided several relevant institutions at the end of the article, saying that employees or fans who witnessed the incident can contact these 24-hour assistance hotlines at any time to seek support or help.
