Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was in a complicated mood after a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace, but he believes that the team can still maintain a clean sheet despite the absence of several key players, which shows the strong strength of the Blues lineup.
Sanchez: "We had a few weeks of very intense pre-season training and unfortunately we had some important players injured. But I think the players who came on the bench performed well, everyone was ready to play for the team, everyone had enough strength, and we managed to keep the zero-shot."
"We were very good at possessing the ball, and Crystal Palace retreated in the midfield. So from my point of view it wasn't difficult to start the offense from the backcourt, but it was difficult to find Kesedo and Enzo in the midfield, so we had to push more through the wings. But I think the lads did what they should do, created opportunities, and if we had a little luck, we could have scored a goal or two."
"A little happy and a little disappointed. I'm happy because I think the team created some opportunities, we played well, and ultimately just because of some subtle gaps that didn't win. But obviously I was a little disappointed, because we didn't get the results we wanted. We wanted to start the season with a win and continue the good form of the past few months. Although it didn't happen, we need to focus on moving forward now."
"We weren't tough enough in some of the five-five opportunities in the midfield, which is where we need to be careful. But the guys did create opportunities, and we believed we could have scored one or two goals. That's football, we'll take this clean sheet, take this point, and move on."
