With the accelerated integration of AI and semiconductor technology, industry demand for efficient computing and smart applications continues to heat up. In order to promote the development of Taiwan's semiconductor industry in emerging applications and forward-looking technology research and development, the Smart Electronics Academy of the Industrial Development Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs continues to play a key role in integrating domestic and foreign industry, academia, and research resources to provide customized functional added value that meets the needs of enterprises, assist industry talents in improving their professional skills and practical application capabilities, and promote the innovative development of semiconductor and AI technologies.
Faced with the current challenges of high-speed data processing and real-time decision-making in the semiconductor industry, the Smart Electronics Academy has cooperated with Phison Electronics since September to hold a "Ground-end Generative AI Model Training Workshop" in response to industry needs. The course introduces Phison's self-developed AI platform AIDAPTIV+, which provides a high-performance PC computing environment to help industry players train and fine-tune generative AI models locally to improve application performance while taking into account security and data protection.
This workshop attracted the participation of many industrial partners such as ASE Semiconductor, Silicon Products, Nanya, Macronix, Huadong, Nanmao, and Hanmin. The course content includes model reasoning and performance optimization, model training practice, and industrial case sharing, helping students transform corporate knowledge into generative AI models that can be applied to decision-making and R&D, and cultivating new talents with both semiconductor and AI majors for the industry.

In addition, the School of Smart Electronics is also actively expanding the cross-domain applications of local AI, planning to integrate generative AI knowledge base, question and answer management and model fine-tuning functions, and combine them with smart wearable devices to be used in cultural business districts, museums, historical monuments and other places, allowing participants to instantly obtain exhibit knowledge and personalized experience, creating a new interactive model in cultural spaces.
Looking to the future, as semiconductor process technology continues to break through to 4nm and more advanced nodes, AI will become the core driving force for innovation and efficiency improvement. The School of Smart Electronics will continue to cooperate with the industry to transform "semiconductor × AI" technology into practical applications, promote smart solutions, and work together to create a more forward-looking and resilient smart ecosystem, allowing Taiwan to continue to lead the global semiconductor and AI wave.
